30 ROUNDS
Over the past term, the Shooting team conducted a series of trials and practises to select a squad for the Schools and Units Shooting competition 2019. The selected squad was required to shoot two rounds at each of 5 targets, with the centre being worth 10 points per shot to achieve a score out of a possible 100. The team shot well, with the highest score being 99 and the majority of the squad scoring in the high 90s. Aside from the competitive aspect, it was a valuable chance for everyone on the team to improve their technique using shooting jackets, enabling us to hit targets without the aid of a support for the rifle. The progression and coaching has enabled all the shooting team to equip themselves with the Marksmanship principles and apply them with discipline and high accuracy. The same team won the prestigious Lord Guthrie Cup at Harrow School in October beating all the top teams in London to first place. (Left to right) K Shah, M Arlen, J Tillotson, M Hobsbawm
