30 ROUNDS

On a wet and windy evening in Moor Park, the 3 sections of the Merchant Taylors’ and St Helens went out and faced the conditions equipped with a Christmas jumper and their positive Christmas spirit. Army, Navy and RAF rotated around three stations, outdoor physical activity, Kahoot quiz and the cake stand. The first stand was split into two activities, the famous dodgeball and then a new addition called dash tag in which one team is outside the playing zone, sending one person in at a time to tag members of the other team (inside the zone) until the whole of the team in the playing area are caught. It was thoroughly enjoyed by all the boys and girls who took part. After this, the cadets headed into the warmth of the lecture theatre for their second stand, the quiz. The quiz was a 43 question Kahoot that cadets could play on their phone with questions ranging from knowledge of rifles to trivia about senior cadets. Again, cadets had a great time. The third and final stand was in the dining room where cadets could buy some beautiful looking cakes, many of which were home baked. While eating cakes the cadets watched the CCF video showing the various activities the CCF has to offer. There, each section gave out their promotions to outstanding cadets. At the end, the three sections convened for end of term information and Contingent Commander Firestone judged his favorite of the cakes by look. With L/Cpl Bindloss, F/Sgt Jamie Johnson and Capt. Sharrock all coming in the top three. Overall an enjoyable session and a fitting farewell for the long-awaited Christmas holidays. Thanks to CHOC Sgt Hannah Wood for organizing the session as well as everyone who baked and gave money to support Combat Stress, our charity this year.
