CHAMBER ORCHESTRA The Chamber Orchestra is the premier ensemble for the most advanced string players at Merchant Taylor's School. Around 25 players make up this orchestra that performs at the Autumn Concert, the Merchant Taylors' Hall Concert, and the Spring Spectacular. Repertoire ranges from Baroque to Contemporary, and recent concerts have seen performances of Holst's Brook Green Suite, Britten's Simple Symphony, Dag Wiren's Serenade, Op. 11 and Copland's Quiet City, the latter featuring Upper Sixth Form Music Scholars as soloists on Trumpet and Cor Anglais. In 2019 the Chamber Orchestra's performances will include Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 .
