ON 28th June 2014, Merchant
Taylors’ School is holding its inaugural
Medics Convention. This event will
be of interest to anyone considering a
career in medicine, currently studying
medicine, or already practising
medicine.
Starting at 3pm in the Great Hall, we
will have short talks from practitioners in
a number of di erent fields of medicine.
There will be a chance for current
MTS pupils to learn about interview
techniques and university life, and for
OMTmedical students to hear from
medical practitioners about the next steps
in their careers. This will be followed
by an opportunity for socialising and
networking – a chance for medics looking
for the next step in their careers to meet
each other and potential employers.
There will be no charge for the
event, but we do ask that you register
in advance so that we know how many
people will be there on the day and who

IF you work in the arts or a creative industry, or you are
interested in art more generally, you may be interested in
attending our first Arts and Creative Industries Reception at
Somerset House on Thursday 9th October 2014.
Please join us and our host, Neil Lawson-Baker (1952-1957) –
Chairman of the National Open Art Exhibition – for an evening
of drinks and canapés and an opportunity to socialise, network,
or simply enjoy a fantastic art exhibition. It promises to be

Merchant Taylors’Arts & Creative Industries Reception –
9 October, Somerset House
IF you left Merchant Taylors’ in 2009 or later, we hope
you will join the Head Master for an informal gathering on
the afternoon of Saturday 13th September. Simon Everson is
oering a lamb roast and beer from the Rebellion Brewery,
not to mention the chance to enter the Head Master’s garden
without later being called to his oce. It will be a chance to
see the changes that have taken place at the school, catch up
with old friends and reminisce about your time at Taylors’.
We expect it will be a lively afternoon!
